Link between EnergyDeck and ESOS Auditor will make ESOS compliance quicker and easier
Performance analytics firm IES and energy management platform provider EnergyDeck have today announced a partnership that will allow EnergyDeck customers to link the platform with IES’ ESOS Auditor to enable a quicker and easier route to ESOS compliance.
The UK’s Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) requires approximately 10,000 qualifying organisations to undertake energy audits that include 12 months of verifiable data.
These organisations are now looking for the best and most efficient ways to collect, validate, evidence and store all the data required to calculate their total energy consumption and undertake energy audits. Each participating organisation needs to build an evidence pack to evidence the information in their ESOS compliance assessment.

RBS has selected EnergyDeck as a finalist in the Innovation Gateway; a major international search for new ways of reducing energy, water and waste.Launched in March this year, the RBS Innovation Gateway attracted more than 140 submissions in just 40 days, from brand new concepts through to market-ready products and services.The ideas came from innovators and small businesses (SMEs) around Britain and the world, from Perth in Scotland to Perth in Western Australia. The best ideas will be tested on the RBS estate of 2,500 buildings and branches in the UK.

EnergyDeck recently launched a YouTube channel so we can begin creating videos to help spread the word about EnergyDeck, show how it can be best used, and introduce the team behind it. The first video posted is already up, and does just this - providing a brief overview of EnergyDeck as a whole and the team (without Markus, unfortunately, who was on holiday at the time). It was created as part of our semi-final entry for the Cisco BIG Awards competition, and so is a great general introduction to the platform (plus we were required to stick to a time limit, so it’s not too long…)

August has seen the arrival of Nicholas Mason, who joins the EnergyDeck team as Director of Business Development. Nic joins us from CBRE’s Energy & Sustainability Team where he was a senior E&S consultant providing carbon reporting and energy management services to companies such as Sainsbury’s, Nomura, C&A Europe and CBRE Global Investors. Prior to CBRE, Nic worked at Westminster City Council as their carbon, energy and sustainable procurement manager.

As the year is drawing to a close, we're thinking back of all the events and experiences 2012 has held for us, much like many people around the world tend to do at this time of year. For EnergyDeck in particular, 2012 has been a special year - it being our first full year of operation.
We started work on our first prototype in October 2011, and by December of that year we set off on the production version of EnergyDeck. It took a while to get things working the way we wanted, and we launched the first public version of EnergyDeck in March 2012 with the mission to take energy efficiency to a mass market.
Since then, we have been working relentlessly on improving the platform in order to extend its capabilities and incorporate feedback from our users.
