It’s been a while ...
Six years almost to this date to be exact - that we have been active in the market with EnergyDeck. 50 data source integrations, 5,000 buildings and 25,000 data feeds later, we’re still alive and kicking, and going stronger than ever.
But it’s not just us who have grown over time, the world around has has changed as well. A little bit, at least. Even though energy management and real estate are arguable two of the most change-resistant industries, there is a breath of fresh air in the market.
The evolution of the industry is driven mainly by two factors:
- An increasing availability of a wide range of operational and performance data for buildings, captured by a wide range of data sources that go well beyond energy meters
- An emerging focus on how building end-users can benefit from better equipped and managed buildings; namely through healthier spaces for working and learning, better productivity and ultimately increased asset value.
While energy will remain a key ingredient in all of this, it is but one of many metrics that needs to be captured and integrated to fully comprehend and optimise building operations - for every type of user and operator. And while EnergyDeck has been able to track much more than energy from the day it launched back in March 2012, the perception of what our platform was capable of was maybe a bit too mono-metric for our tastes.
Enter Fabriq!
We felt it made sense to rebrand in a way that would better capture the essence of our platform and our value proposition to the market. The name Fabriq can be related to building fabric, yes, but more broadly the fabric of things (devices, sensors), people and - let’s just span the bridge a little wider - the fabric of time and space. You know, everything is connected at the end of the day.
Back to the here and now and planet Earth though - we’re very excited about all this because we’re not only rebranding as a company, but also launching a fully updated version of our trusted EnergyDeck platform. The first thing you’ll notice about Fabriq OS (or short, Fabriq - don’t say we’re not making things easy for you!) is a modern and clean UI, which is now also responsive and makes full use of all the widescreen monitor real estate that we have in this day and age. In addition, we’ve streamlined the user workflows and while we were at it, added a host of new and advanced capabilities. But more on this in another post.
So now, we’re celebrating the relaunch of our brand and our platform. And we’re hoping to hear from you - your feedback is paramount to us and our product development, as our existing customers have come to expect.
