We are now looking for a full-time junior to mid-level developer to join our dev team in our shiny new office in Shoreditch, and play a key role in developing the next generation version of our platform. You’ll work in a highly collaborative environment where every line of your clean and effective code counts. You’ll be continuously pushed to find solutions for some of the biggest challenges (we call them opportunities!) in large-scale, high-frequency data analytics for the built environment.
EnergyDeck is an award-winning Internet of Things platform that captures the entire range of energy, resource and environmental data relating to the built environment. Users benefit from highly flexible data management, automatic performance benchmarking and effective stakeholder engagement, all delivered through a powerful and intuitive web interface.
Salary: £30k - £40k
About the role:
We’ve made good progress on the new build and now want to accelerate things towards the public launch, so you can’t join quickly enough! We are looking for someone with a strong skillset in backend development. We’re mainly working in Python and Java, but other languages are welcome as we believe in using the best tool for the job at hand. Our new platform runs on AWS with options to deploy to other cloud services. There’s some fancy internal event handling and messaging stuff we’re working on as well. And lest we forget, D3.js.
In addition to the basics, we’re looking for someone who loves all things (building) data. Our ultimate objective is to provide insights into building performance that our users never thought could be gained. The development stack may be industry standard, but in the environment which we operate in pretty much nothing is (did we say there are lots of opportunities?!). So we’re valuing any experiences you’ve gained with connecting databases, API development and transferring/-forming data across various systems and web services.
In return for your efforts, you can rest assured that the work you do matters not just to us and our users, but can really lead to a step change in how commercial and other buildings are operated. Which in turn drives significant reductions in costs and environmental impact. Whoever said you can’t have heaps of fun and do a ton of good at the same time?!
If you’re still reading and have kept nodding throughout, we want to hear from you!
